Dr. Berman, why do you offer clinical skin care treatments in your offices?
I do this based on need. The need to address clients concerns that are not in need of invasive procedures. We all have the desire to look and feel as good as we can. Our exclusive treatments and products allow this desire to become reality.
What is retinol?
Retinol is the purest derivative of vitamin A and it is the recommended choice for treating acne as well as fine lines and wrinkles. It works by increasing cellular turnover, stability and promoting the extrusion of the plugged material from follicles. Ideally the best benefits are seen after using a Retinol product, such as my own Dr. Berman's Retinol Serum, for 12-months.
Why do I have Acne after having clear skin for 30 years?
Honestly, there could be a number of contributing factors but most likely you have more propionibacterium acnes, a normal bacteria of the skin, in your follicles than you should. Because of these bacteria the white blood cells produce an enzyme that damages the wall of the follicle allowing the contents to enter the dermis. The result can be seen as papules, pustules, nodules and comedones. Try using an exfoliating cleanser, good mask and retinol-based product.
